What do you love most about Sign Design/ Employee Ownership?
I love how creative I can be - my job never feels monotonous. My last job I rarely saw the finished product so it’s rewarding seeing finished photos. I can’t tell you how many times I have pulled over to see a finished sign of something I worked on or designed. I also really enjoy being part of a strong talented design team - in fact this company in general has so many talented and knowledgeable people
What made you want to work at Sign Design? What makes you stay?
I worked at a print solutions company right down the road for 17 1/2 years and would ride by the Sign Design building every day on my commute. I often wondered what it would be like to work there. I decided to step out of my comfort space to apply and accept the job as a designer. While it was a big adjustment having been at my last job for so long, SD grew on me pretty quickly and it’s been rather satisfying working here ever since.
Where have you worked prior to Sign Design?
I worked for a book publishing print house in Bridgewater for 2 years as a Graphic Designer, specializing in art concepts and photo editing for K-12 school books and programs. After that, I worked as the Lead Designer at a marketing/print solutions company in Brockton for 18 years, where I worked with many clients and allowed me to do anything and everything design-wise.
What other roles have you had at Sign Design?
None. I like to design stuff.
Describe a hobby or pastime that you have.
I love music so I have a rather large guitar and record collection. I love to play guitar and drums and have been teaching my son Jake drums, piano and a little guitar for the last year and half. He loves playing, especially drums, and wants to be a rockstar when he grows up so my wife and I are doing something right.
